Descrizione
Tetramethoxysilane is used in corrosion resistant coatings and in catalysts. It is also used in the production of silicone. Further, it is employed in the sol-gel synthesis of chromium-doped silicates and in the formation of hexagonal mesoporous silica layers. In addition, it is used in synthetic chemistry to prepare ketals and acetals from ketones and aldehydes respectively.

AnwendungenTetramethoxysilan wird in korrosionsbeständigen Beschichtungen und in Katalysatoren verwendet. Es wird auch bei der Herstellung von Silikon verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es bei der Sol-Gel-Synthese von chromdotierten Silikaten und bei der Bildung von hexagonalen mesoporösen Kieselgelschichten eingesetzt. Desweiteren wird es in der synthetischen Chemie zur Herstellung von Ketalen und Acetalen aus Ketonen bzw. Aldehyden verwendet.
Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Ethanol und organischen Lösungsmitteln. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.
Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln, Säuren und Basen.
