Description

Sodium hydroxide flake is widely used in a variety of large scale applications such as pulp and paper manufacturing, in the production of soap and detergents as well as in water treatment plants. It is used in the Bayer process of aluminum manufacture as well as to remove sulfurous impurities from crude oil. It is also used in the manufacture of biodiesel, rayon and cellophane; as a catalyst for the trans esterification of methanol and triglycerides and as paint stripper on wooden objects. It is mainly used for pH control, acid neutralization, off-gas scrubbing and as a catalyst in various industries like pharmaceutical, agrochemical, dyes, paints and polymer. It is also used in refining vegetable oils, rubber reclamation, metal processing, metal degreasing, adhesive preparations, paint removers, disinfectants, rubber latex stabilizers and in the stabilization of sodium hypochlorite.

Anwendungen
Natriumhydroxid in Schuppenform wird in einer Vielzahl von Großanwendungen wie der Zellstoff- und Papierherstellung, bei der Herstellung von Seife und Detergenzien sowie in Wasseraufbereitungsanlagen häufig verwendet. Wird in der Bayer-Herstellung von Aluminium sowie zur Entfernung schwefelhaltiger Verunreinigungen aus Rohöl verwendet. Wird außerdem bei der Herstellung von Biodiesel, Rayon und Zellophan verwendet; dient als Katalysator für die Transveresterung von Methanol und Triglyceriden und als Abbeizmittel von Holzobjekten. Wird hauptsächlich zur pH-Kontrolle, Säureneutralisierung, Abgasreinigung verwendet und als Katalysator in verschiedenen Branchen wie Pharmazie, Agrochemie, Farbstoffen, Farben und Polymeren eingesetzt. Der Stoff kommt zudem in folgenden Bereichen zur Anwendung: Raffination von Pflanzenölen, Rückgewinnung von Gummi, Metallverarbeitung, Metallentfettung, in Klebepräparaten, zum Entfernen von Farben, in Desinfektionsmitteln, als Gummilatex-Stabilisatoren und Stabilisierung von Natriumhypochlorit.

Hinweise
Luftempfindlich und hygroskopisch. Es ist hygroskopisch und absorbiert Feuchtigkeit und Kohlendioxid aus der Luft. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Säuren und organischen Materialien.
