Beschreibung
Nickel(II) chloride is a mild Lewis acid used for the regioselective isomerization of dienols and selective reduction of alkenes to alkanes in presence of Lithium aluminum hydride. It is used as a precursor to nickel boride, finely divided nickel. It acts as a catalyst to prepare dialkyl arylphosphonates from phosphites and aryl iodide. It finds application in the electroplating of nickel onto other metal items. It is also used in the synthesis of semiconducting metal-containing polymers.

Nickel(II)-chlorid ist eine milde Lewis-Säure, die für die regioselektive Isomerisierung von Dienolen und die selektive Reduktion von Alkenen auf Alkane in Gegenwart von Lithiumaluminiumhydrid verwendet wird. Es wird als Vorläufer von Nickelborid, fein geteiltem Nickel, verwendet. Es dient als Katalysator zur Herstellung von Dialkylarylphosphonaten aus Phosphiten und Aryliodid. Es findet Anwendung bei der Vernickelung von Metallgegenständen. Es wird auch bei der Synthese von halbleitenden metallhaltigen Polymeren verwendet.
Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ethylenglykol, Ethanol, Hydrazin und Ammoniumhydroxid. Schwer in Wasser löslich. Unlöslich in Salpetersäure.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit Peroxiden.
