Description
Indium(III) chloride is used in famous organic reactions such as Friedel-Crafts acylation and Diels-Alder reaction as a lewis acid catalyst. It is an efficient catalyst for thioacetalization and its chemoselectivity. It catalyzes the enantioselective ring-opening of meso-aziridines with thiols.

AnwendungenIndium(III)-chlorid wird in bekannten organischen Reaktionen wie der Friedel-Crafts-Acylierung und der Diels-Alder-Reaktion als Lewis-Säure-Katalysator eingesetzt. Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser und Tetrahydrofuran. Schwerlöslich in Alkohol und unlöslich in Äther.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Säuren und starken Oxidationsmitteln. Im geschmolzenen Zustand kann Indium(III)-chlorid Elektrizität leiten.
