Puromycin hemmt die Peptidyl-Übertragung auf pro- und eukaryotischen Ribosomen; die Resistenz wird durch Expression des Pac-Gens verliehen.

  • In der Zellbiologie als Auswahl-Antibiotikum in Kultursystemen für Säugetierzellen weit verbreitet
  • Der empfohlene Konzentrationsbereich liegt zwischen 0,2 und 5,0 μg/ml.
  • Kann bei Konzentrationen von nur 1 μg/ml toxisch für eukaryotische Zellen sein.
  • Wird mit einer Konzentration von 10 mg/ml in 20 mM HEPES-Puffer (pH 7,2 bis 7,5) geliefert.
