5-(Trifluoromethoxy)isatin is used as a reactant for preparation of oxindole derivatives as TAk1 kinase inhibitors and of isatin thiosemicarbazones via condensation with thiosemicarbazones as herpes simplex virus (HSV) inhibitors. It is also used as a reactant for synthesis of 3-substituted 2-indolinone RET kinase inhibitors and for preparation of indolone acetamides as antiseizure agents.

Anwendungen
5-(Trifluormethoxy)isatin wird als Reaktionsmittel zur Vorbereitung von Oxindol-Derivaten als TAK1-Kinase-Inhibitor und von Isatin-Thiosemicarbazonen über Kondensation mit Thiosemicarbazonen als Herpes-Simplex-Virus (HSV)-Inhibitor verwendet. Dient auch als Reaktionsmittel für die Synthese von 3-substituierten 2-indolinonen RET-Kinase-Inhibitoren und für die Vorbereitung von Indolon-Acetamiden als krampflösendes Mittel.
