Description

A useful biological buffer2-Amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol is used to make surfactants, vulcanization accelerators and as a biological buffer. It acts as an absorbent for acidic gases and emulsifying agent for cosmetics, mineral oil, leather dressings, textile specialties and cleaning compounds. It is also used in hair sprays. It acts as a buffer for the determination of alkaline phosphatase activity and spacer in isotachophoresis of proteins. It serves as a reaction buffer for enzymes with an activity in the basic pH range such as alkaline phosphatase. Further, it is used in the preparation of 4-hydroxymethyl-4-methyl-oxazolidin-2-one.

Anwendungen
Ein nützlicher biologischer Puffer, 2-Amino-2-Methyl-1,3-Propandiol wird zur Herstellung von Tensiden, Vulkanisationsbeschleunigern und als biologischer Puffer verwendet. Es dient als Absorptionsmittel für saure Gase und Emulgiermittel für Kosmetika, Mineralöl, Lederauflagen, Textilspezialitäten und Reinigungsverbindungen. Es wird auch in Haarsprays verwendet. Es dient als Puffer für die Bestimmung der alkalischen Phosphataseaktivität und des Spacers in der Isotophorese von Proteinen. Es dient als Reaktionspuffer für Enzyme mit einer Aktivität im grundlegenden pH-Bereich wie der alkalischen Phosphatase. Außerdem wird es bei der Herstellung von 4-hydroxymethyl-4-methyl-oxazolidin-2-on verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser und anderen organischen Lösungsmitteln.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Luft- und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, Aluminium, Kupfer, Messing und starken Säuren.
